Estate Planning

The experienced attorneys at Iron Mountain’s Ryan Law Offices can advise you on the best approach to your estate planning. We thoroughly analyze your estate and strategize the best means of transferring your assets, minimizing taxes, establishing guardianship for your children, supporting personal philanthropic causes, and protecting your loved ones. We can draft a will that reflects your desires and establish living trusts if they would be beneficial to your estate.

Our Estate Planning Process

At Ryan Law Offices, we have a process that we use for all estate planning matters. Here is the process:

  1. Initial Consultation. We schedule an initial consultation, where you meet with one of our estate planning attorneys to discuss your goals, your assets, and the estate planning options best for you. At this point, you decide the type of estate plan you need. You receive a folder with our contact information, business cards, and articles relevant to your estate planning needs.
  2. Document Preparation. The attorneys at Ryan Law Offices draft the estate plan, contact you with any additional questions, and forward the documents for your review.
  3. Client Review. You will have draft copies of the documents to review before signing. This allows you to contact your attorney with any questions or concerns. Our staff will call you to schedule a time to sign your estate planning documents.
  4. Signing of Documents. At the signing meeting, your attorney will review each of the estate planning documents with you. Each document is signed at the end of the meeting.
  5. Funding (Trusts Only). After signing a trust document, we guide you through the process of funding your trust. We help you title your accounts in the name of the trust, transfer real estate to the trust, and ensure all other assets have been transferred to your trust.
  6. Original Documents. Lastly, we deliver to you your original estate planning documents–either in a binder or a special envelope. These documents should be stored in fire-proof box, safe, or safe-deposit box.
